Colonisation, right? Land is treated as a commodity to be exploited, which reduces our life-supporting systems to a set of resources and financial assets. Most land is now alienated from tangata whenua, which has directly led to Māori experiencing so many disproportionately negative outcomes today. This exploitation and alienation cannot go on. 

The Green Party’s Te Mātāwaka caucus has released Hoki Whenua Mai - a pathway forward that outlines what the Government needs to do to redress the on-going injustices of the Treaty settlement process. We’ll be holding a webinar to outline how Hoki Whenua Mai came about, the ways the government can right the injustices of the past, and how you can get involved.
