Dear Minister Goodhew,

I care deeply about the impact of my purchasing. I am concerned about the impact of unsustainable palm oil production on local people and biodiversity in Malaysia and Indonesia and about the global impacts of this deforestation. But without labelling rules I am unable to do anything about it.

Please vote yes to progressing work on palm oil labelling at the Legislative and Governance Forum on Food Regulation.

Our current labelling system penalises companies that are doing the right thing by declaring palm oil while other companies are hiding it. By having clear labelling rules companies would be rewarded for sustainable sourcing of palm oil and we could make a real impact on the deforestation and its impacts.

When you represent New Zealand on this issue, please vote yes on my behalf.
