Country of Origin Labelling

Just like with your clothes and shoes, you should have the right to know where your food comes from.

Add your name to our call for mandatory Country of Origin Labelling of food in New Zealand. Australia does it, we can too.

We request that the House of Representatives support country origin labelling of food in New Zealand.

I want to be able to make informed choices about the food I buy. I choose to buy local and support New Zealand producers. Mandatory Country of Origin Labelling will make it easier for me to do that.

Australia also has to define the spices used on the label. I cannot tolerate chilli and it can be a real problem for young children ( chilli = burn going in, burn going out) and have to ignore anything that says spices ( which normally means added chilli ). I would prefer to buy New Zealand instead of Australian products. I don’t approve of the way New Zealand manufacturer’s labelling gets around the subject by saying from local and imported ingredients

All food should have the country of origin. Not good enough to say, contains local and imported ingredients… Where do the imported ingredients come from and what is the percentage of local verses imported ingredients. I would also like to know what the ingredients are, that have been imported and added to the food. Thank You. Mimi van Houten.
